Saipan Mayor Ramon Camacho has been and continues to be an avid supporter of the Saipan Awaodori Team. Mayor Camacho continues to support and promote the Awaodori Team as they are an organization engaging with our youth. The Mayor believes in community groups and programs our youth can participate. Mayor Camacho believes programs such as these are a great alternative for our local youth to stay away from crime, drugs, and other harmful activities. The Saipan Mayor’s Office provides a venue for the Awaodori Team to practice such as the Koblerville Youth Center and the Sugar King Park.
A big part of the story of the Saipan Awaodori Team is Kinpachi Restaurant and its owner Misako Kamata. Ms. Kamata founded the Saipan Awaodori Team in 2007. Since then, she has continued to invest in our local youth through the initiatives of this program. Mayor Camacho recognizes and congratulates Kinpachi Restaurant on its 43 years of service and business to the CNMI. “We have endured many successes and challenges and I want to thank Ms. Kamata for her continued support and endless commitment to the people of the CNMI,” said Mayor Camacho.
